who we are

We’re Hannah and George – musical theatre performers, facilitators, and creatives based in Oxfordshire.

We set up Off Book Collective because we wanted to create a space for people who love musical theatre and want to keep it in their lives in a meaningful way, without the commitment that some amateur shows require.

Maybe you did shows at uni or school and miss the buzz. Maybe you’ve had kids or a career change and lost confidence. Maybe you’re a professional looking for a place to play.

We offer high-quality, low-pressure musical theatre workshops that put creativity, confidence, and community centre stage. There’s a definite emphasis on acting through song, but we also work on character development, vocal technique, or full ensemble harmony work. Our sessions are designed to spark joy and unlock your creative voice.

We also have big plans for immersive performances, creative retreats, and new ways of putting musical theatre on the map for adults who want to reconnect with their love of the arts.

  • Hannah is a regular face on the Oxfordshire music and theatre scene.

Recent theatre credits are Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar (OXOPS) and Clare in Ordinary Days (Torch Theatre Productions). Other notable roles include Maria in The Sound of Music, Millie in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Janet Van de Graaf in The Drowsy Chaperone, Ulla in The Producers and Yum Yum in The Mikado. She also appeared in Carmen at The Fortune Theatre in London's West End, directed by Keith Warner.

Hannah spent ten years working as a TV documentary producer on shows for BBC, Channel 4, Channel 5, Discovery Channel and National Geographic Channel. She is a self-confessed musical theatre geek and will happily bore anyone who will listen with useless trivia about her favourite shows.

  • George gained his Masters in Musical Theatre from the Royal Academy of Music in 2019 after completing his undergraduate studies in classical voice at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

During his time at the Royal Academy of Music, he worked under the baton of Dan Bowling (Musical Supervisor for Les Miserables, The Lion King and The Phantom of the Opera in the West End), Alfonso Casado Trigo (Musical Supervisor for Les Miserables in the West End), as well as being coached by Claude Michel Schonberg (Composer - Les Miserables), and Chrissie Cartwright (CATS West End/International tour) and household names such as Imelda Staunton, Patti LuPone and Jenna Russell.

George made his professional debut in Hello Again at the Union Theatre in 2019 as The Artist, and was engaged to go on a European Tour as one of the 12 Tenors, but this was sadly curtailed due to Covid-19. In 2022 he toured the United Kingdom with Unfortunate: The Untold Story of Ursula The Sea Witch, playing King Triton. In 2023 he appeared in the lead role of J. Bruce Ismay in the world tour of 'Titanic: The Musical', and was Passarino/Cover Piangi in the recent Asia tour of The Phantom of the Opera.
